Meet THERESA COMSTOCK
Theresa Broussard Comstock (B.F.A. Ballet, TCU), a Texas native, began her dance training with Beaumont Civic Ballet and spent her summers at the Joffrey Ballet Workshop in San Antonio, Texas. She continued her training at TCU on scholarship where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Ballet. After college Theresa moved to New York City to pursue her performing career. She is a founding member of both NYC based contemporary dance companies The Von Howard Project and BodyArt. Musical Theatre credits include West Side Story as Teresita, Beauty and the Beast, Annie Get Your Gun, Me and My Girl and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with the Music Theatre of Wichita.
As a dance educator and choreographer, Theresa has taught and choreographed throughout the country for various schools, studios, universities, and companies for the past 20 years. She founded and developed an inner-city dance program in Washington D.C. for Center City Public Charter Schools. She has created original contemporary ballet works for youth ballet companies Berks Ballet Theatre, Paso Robles Dance Collective, San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet, Movement Arts Collective and Insight Dance Ensemble. Her works have been performed at Regional Dance America Festivals throughout the country, The Ballet Alliance Festival, YAGP and California Dance Classics. Classical choreography includes The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, and Alice in Wonderland. Theresa is also a Classical Variation coach for students who desire to compete. Currently, Theresa serves as Ballet Curriculum Director for Class Act Dance where she has the privilege of training her fabulous students! Theresa considers her relationships with her students one of her greatest gifts and treasures the ability to pour the knowledge and beauty of dance into each soul. Most recently, Theresa completed the CPYB (Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet) Teacher Training to implement with her students and share with other ballet educators. Outside of the stage Theresa is mother to two wonderful little girls, one of which has severe epilepsy and other special needs. Theresa is grateful to her husband, Casey and daughters, Lily Kate and Maddy Beth for their endless love and support! Rom. 8:28
