Who We Are

We are a dance fest built on movement, community, and purpose — a gathering of movers, creators, and storytellers coming together for a shared weekend of dance. Our mission is to create a space where dancers come together to learn, engage, and leave recharged with purpose and passion, both as artists and individuals. Through inspiring classes, meaningful connections, and shared experiences, we aim to cultivate a weekend that invites exploration, sparks curiosity, and feels empowering, inspiring, and unforgettable. This is not just a weekend of classes, it’s a collective experience. Here, movement is celebrated, voices are heard, and dancers feel seen, supported, and at home.

Our Story

What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. Through every step, we’ve focused on staying true to our values and cultivating a space where education leads and artistry thrives. This dance fest was created as a return to where it all started — a place to learn deeply, move honestly, spark joy, and inspire greatness in every dancer.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, she is recognized for her versatility in performance and choreography. In the Spring of 2022, Marcella graduated from the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University, receiving her BFA in Dance with a concentration in Ballet. While at Point Park, she had the honor of working with and performing the work of Norbert De La Cruz III, Jae Man Joo, Christopher Huggins, Matthew Powell, Kiesha Lalama, among many other artists. Additional performance credits include work by Crystal Pite at Springboard Danse Montreal and Alex Ketley at Perry Mansfield. She recently made her Off-Broadway debut in NYC in August and was part of the pre-production process of Ragtime on Broadway.

Marcella also has a passion for choreographing. She has taught and set work for competitive dance studios across the country, receiving a multitude of awards for her pieces. Her first full length piece premiered in the fall of 2021 at Point Park University’s Student Choreography Project. She enjoys the creative process and loves seeing her work unfold into something that leaves the audience inspired and impacted. Since moving to NYC, she has explored the world of dance on film and has worked with many dancers in NYC to create and produce short dance concept videos. Marcella is also a NYC photographer for artists, @momentsbymarcella, where she captures dancers all around the NYC area.

I’m so happy to welcome you to the Genesis Dance Project! This has been a project I’ve been dreaming about for some time now, so I’m so excited to finally share it with all of you. This is my way of inspiring and pouring into the next generation of dancers in the city where it all began for me. My team has been working hard to create an educational and artistic weekend full of engagement and connection. I look forward to meeting and dancing with all of you for our first Genesis Dance Project. It feels good to be back home!
